Homeopathy Treatment & Charges
Homeopathy is a safe and gentle form of medicine based on the principle of 'like cures like'. In brief, this means that a substance that would cause symptoms in a healthy person when given in a material dose can be used in a minute amount to cure those same symptoms in illness. Tried and tested for over 200 years, it is one of the most widely practised complementary therapies in the world today and is cited by the House of Lords' Select Committee on Science & Technology as one of the five Group One therapies, having 'an individual diagnostic approach' along with osteopathy, chiropractic, herbal medicine and acupuncture. Although science cannot yet prove precisely how homeopathy works, the latest advances in quantum physics do go some way towards shedding light on the process. What is known and recognised at the current time is that a carefully selected and properly applied homeopathic remedy acts as a trigger to the body's own natural healing response. The initial homeopathic consultation lasts for approximately 1½ - 1¾ hours during which time a full case history is taken. This includes all aspects of the patient’s life from their physical symptoms, emotions and outlook to the foods they like to eat. A remedy is then selected which best covers their symptoms and constitution.

Subsequent appointments usually follow every 6 weeks or so and last for around 45 minutes. These are used to assess progress and decide on a continuing course of treatment.

The cost of the prescribed medicine is included in the consultation fee.

Occasionally I may feel that tissue salts, skin care products, tinctures or additional acute remedies will be beneficial to overall treatment and long term case management. The requirements for these and their costs (usually between £5 - £10 per item) are fully discussed with the patient before dispensing.

The cost of treatment can be recovered in full or part through some health care providers such as Simply Health, www.simplyhealth.co.uk and Healthshield, www.healthshield.co.uk
Contact them directly for details and please note that I do not receive payment, commission or incentives for bringing their services to your attention.
